Turning ideas
into reality.
ProtoLab Studio is a one-person shop that designs, prints, and laser-cuts custom pieces — including student and graduation projects — from a rough idea or a finished CAD file. Send it over Instagram or WhatsApp and get a real answer back.
Three ways to make it real
Whether you've got a finished file or just an idea, there's a path from here to a physical object.
3D Printing
Custom pieces printed in PLA or PETG — décor, personalized gifts, working parts, and everything in between.
CAD Design
No file yet? Describe the piece and it gets modeled from scratch, sized and shaped to what you actually need.
Laser Cutting
Precise cuts and engraving for acrylic and wood — signage, nameplates, and flat-pack pieces.
What's been on the plate
Pulled straight from the build log on @protolab_studio — real orders, not stock photos.
Upside-down incense burner
A functional redesign that keeps ash contained and the room smelling right, not just decorative.
3D PRINT · CUSTOM COLORSCustom character string art
Fan-favorite characters built pin by pin — the last request on the board was Spider-Man.
3D PRINT + STRING ARTCustom desk sets for teams
Matching pieces designed around a whole group or "squad" order, not just one person's desk.
3D PRINT · GROUP ORDERSFully customizable colorways
Every order can be color-matched, from a single accent piece to the whole print.
3D PRINT · ANY COLORCustom home décor
A piece designed to fit a specific room and a specific shelf, not a generic mold.
3D PRINT · HOME DECORStudent & graduation projects
Models and prototypes for coursework and graduation projects, sized and printed to present.

Every print gets whichever material actually fits the job — not whatever's easiest to print.
PLA
Easy to print, wide color range
The default for décor, gifts, and anything that lives indoors. Prints clean, holds fine detail, and comes in the most colors.
- ✓ Décor and display pieces
- ✓ Personalized gifts
- ✓ Prototypes and mockups
- ✗ Not for direct sun or hot cars
PETG
Stronger, weather-resistant
Holds up to water, heat, and daily use. The choice for anything mechanical or anything that lives outside.
- ✓ Mechanical parts
- ✓ Outdoor use
- ✓ Containers and boxes
- ✓ Parts that see friction
Upload an STL, get a price
The file never leaves your browser for this estimate — weight and price are calculated locally, instantly. A real person confirms the final number before anything's printed.
Made for one person, not for a shelf
The pieces that get shared the most aren't the generic ones — they're the ones with someone's actual name on them. A pen holder engraved for a specific desk. A nameplate for a specific door.

Before you send a message
Do I need a finished file to order?
+
No. If you already have an STL, upload it to the instant quote tool above for an estimate. Most orders start as a photo, a sketch, or just a description, though — and get designed from there.
Which service do I need — print, CAD, or laser?
+
If you already have a 3D file, it's a print job. If you have an idea but no file, that's CAD design first. If it's flat signage, engraving, or a cut shape in wood or acrylic, that's laser cutting. Not sure? Just describe the piece and the right service gets recommended.
Which material should I pick?
+
PLA for décor, gifts, and anything indoors. PETG for parts that need to survive heat, water, or regular handling. If you're not sure, just describe how the piece will be used and a material gets recommended.
How long does an order take?
+
Turnaround depends on the service and size — small prints or cuts are often same-day, CAD work and larger pieces take longer. A realistic timeline comes with the quote, before anything is paid.
How do I pay?
+
InstaPay or Vodafone Cash. The order goes into the queue once payment is confirmed.
Can I pick up in person?
+
Yes — pickup in Cairo is available, or the piece can be sent by delivery. This gets confirmed with your order.
